Important Information re: organizational restructuring at NorQuest
The College is changing how it is structured so that it can improve how it operates. The new structure will help NorQuest
fulfill its entire mandate and adequately and appropriately meet the future needs of its learners and the communities it serves.
The new structure has been divided into 3 core functions:
Teaching and Learning: This
area is responsible for developing curriculum and delivering foundational, post-secondary and extension programs in the College.
A vital component of Teaching and Learning is Student Life, which means supporting the student journey from point of interest
in the College to ongoing involvement in NorQuest post-graduation, while empowering student development (life skills, leadership,
and career development). Transformation: The primary role of this area will be to advance the College
from where it is today to where it needs to be to enhance its presence, role and stature in the community. College
Services: The role of College Services is to develop predictable processes for College stakeholders (students, employees,
community, funders, etc.). Functions of this area include things like: education and technology, the registrarial process,
and the maintenance and development of capital infrastructure.
This new structure will allow
NorQuest to focus on the following priorities over the next five years:
engagement of students, employees and the
community; program development to grow the foundational, health and business, and community programs and non-credit program
offerings;applied research activities and funding;financial stability; improved processes and results that create efficiencies
and reward results rather than activity; and campus development to further the long-term campus development plan.
You should not notice much change in the day to day functioning of the College but if you do and have questions you may
direct them to the Students’ Council.
